Christmas in Almost March At My House!

I love Christmas and I also love anything old and especially love homemade items. The two crewel pieces were done by my Aunt Louise, who has passed on. The quilt on the wall was made by my husband's Sister-In-Law, Elizabeth Turner, who has also since passed. A lot of items you will see are found in the thrill of the hunt of thrifting! You can see on the top of the shelf, a part of my Denim Day Figurines - another favorite collection of mine.

I do not have an original style in my home. Wait, yes I do...It is called "my style" ... I love to surround myself with what makes me happy, things from the good old days and things that just give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, when covered up under a blanket on the sofa. Now I know this is not for everyone, as I know a lot of people would think of this as clutter. But you know what...it is my clutter and I love it! I love to see how other people decorate their homes. It may not be for me, but I still find it beautiful. The only problem I have is when I go to someone's home and feel like I am not supposed to sit down on anything or sit a glass down, even on a coaster.

little bit of this and that. I really love the picture of the man, in his overalls, sitting on the mule. It so reminds me of the older men in my family and neighbors, as they headed to the fields to work or returning home after a long day of walking behind that mule.
My love of old and vintage. The doll in the high chair was a doll that my daughter got for Christmas, when she was little.

I have a huge collection of vintage Christmas items and you will see a lot of them on the shelf behind the chair.
I love to collect vintage children's books! I have a love for all books...especially old vintage books!!

A little bit of everything. My niece would tell me it was like coming into Candy Land. I also love snowmen.  I have quite a collection of snowman cookie jars. These are only a few of them. I also love to collect vintage drinking glasses and vintage tea pictures.

This is part of Santa's work shop. The elves are on break at the moment.
So many stories in the picture above. A lot of stuff that tells a story of the elders in both of our families.
I love this vintage arrangement. I got it at a thrift store and every year, I get a lot of compliments on it.

A mix and match of this and that. Again, things that start memories to flowing in my mind. A sense of peace.

I also buy these homemade Christmas trees whenever I run across them. I have some that were given to me by family members also.
I have a love for anything Rudolph and this year he showed up on Christmas morning...his nose a blinking!

More of my Christmas collection of goodies!

Oh, how I enjoy adding to my collection. It is so much fun! Again many stories rest on these shelves.

A lot of fun and whimsical treasures. The teddy bear...Kimberly got for her 1st Christmas. I am a big "I Love Lucy" fan. The doll in the highchair belonged to my SIL, who is now 71...let me say, the doll head was all that was left of her doll and she redid it for me and surprised me with it. It has clothes made out of old feed sacks. I love it!!

My camera and I get carried away! So afraid that I might miss something.
Up-Up and Away!! Merry Christmas To All and To All A Goodnight!!!
Did I tell you that I love Christmas!! I hope you have enjoyed your visit. Please come again.

  1. Hello...I am still learning how to do all this!! That is why so many pictures and what I have written is out of place. I do it and it looks just like I want it to, but when I preview it...things are out of order. Please be patient with me...I will eventually get it straightened out.

I hope you will stop by and come back to visit again soon...

  2. I love your blog! I can see where Kim gets her flair for decorating with vintage. I pretty much have her little farm memorized. :) I hope you'll come back and if you could talk her into coming back with you, that would be awesome. :)
